MINOTOAUR MMA REVIEW
Friday Night, August 14th, 3 of our fighters went to Reggio Calabria Club to fight in the cage on the very first 'MINOTAUR MMA'. We came home with 2/3 wins.
First up was Anthony Barbuto making his pro debut vs a very rangy and dangerous striker Ant Poke from Tasmania. The fight opened with both fighters looking to land early strikes, and went straight to a back and forth wrestle off the fence. Anthony ended up securing a takedown and looked to do some ground and pound damage. Anthony got swept and then spent some time playing guard underneath looking to scramble. Anthony was then hit with an Illegal 12-6 elbow and and the fight was stood back up. Instantly Anthony measured and delivered his overhand right, which glanced but still dropped Poke. Anthony followed up with some ground and pound. The referee pulled him off late in the first round. Anthony Barbuto wins via TKO. Round 1. Next up we had Hayden Wright who fought a very talented and up and coming Shaun Gauci.
Hayden secured a takedown late in the first round, but never really found his rhythm and looked frustrated as Gauci moved around switching stances delivering strikes from range. Hayden Wright loss via KO round 1. Our final fighter for the night was in the Heavyweight division, where our own Simon Scott took on fellow kiwi, undefeated Big Ben Sosoli.
This was a crazy fight, Simon secured an early takedown which resulted in a high pace scramble. Some good sprawling and high pace ground and pound was shown by Simon in this round. As always thanks to everyone who came to support at the event! The Adrenaline presence was huge and couldn't be missed! Next event from here is Jordan Cameron and Sam Hibberd getting ready for 'Hex Fight Series 4' on 31/10! See everyone there!

Leave us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible! TESTIMONIALI've been training at Adrenaline MMA & Fitness for almost a year now.
During my time I have enjoyed being instructed by world class trainers that show real passion and a wealth of knowledge. The atmosphere that Adrenaline offers has always been friendly and welcoming. Usually a club that has so much talent and great fighters would have some ego, but not Adrenaline. The facility's are great and all of the members are friendly and approachable. I came to Adrenaline a stranger, now I am a proud member and friend, the club reminds me of this every time I walk through their door. I would highly recommend Adrenaline MMA to anyone wanting to train in a safe, friendly environment. Blaine Ajnin 1 Year Member |
